Conception and building have been optimised for strength and ease of maintenance, and the hull treatment is of the highest quality.
• Keel bottom 0.80 inches (20mm)
• Keel side plating 0.40 inches (10mm)
• Hull bottom plating 0.30 inches (8mm)
• Hull side plating 0.24 (front) and 0.20 inches (5 & 6 mm)

2) Ease of maintenance
There is a lot of stainless steel everywhere on deck, particularly for all the places that get the most wear and tear. This significantly helps to control rust and keep the boat in great condition.

3) Hull Treatment
The steel hull has been protected by an outstanding treatment, really superior to the usual standards.
The steps done were as follows
SAE 3 sandblast inside and out
Anti-corrosive primer epoxy air-less.
Epoxy tar very thick (500 Kg inside and out).
Intermediary layer of polyurethane
Polyurethane finish, many layers.
In 2014 during a total refit of the boat, the deck received a new treatment. The bottom inside was very closely inspected. It only needed a couple of small patchs of new paint.
The engine, reducer gear box, shaft and propeller are professional materials.
DAF engine, DF 615 marine, Heavy Duty version for fishing boats, regulated at 96,5HP/2200 T/min for a 24 hours/day use.
To inform you, there is a yachting version of this engine, regulated at 120 HP/2400 T/min, and the same engine block is used on the Daf trucks at 150 HP/2600 T/min.
Parts are available in every DAF trucks dealer all around the world. Daf guaranties this heavy duty version for 25 000 hours running full charge, before having to change any part.
This engine has been reconditionned in 2010 as a precaution : changing sleeves and pistons, bearings of connecting rods were still very good.
Right now, the engine worked for 16 000 hours, 10 000 hours only on Valhalla at soft use (1200 to 1800T/min).
This engine is in perfect condition.
